1973 255pp City Lights trade paperback. Conspicuous fold on front cover. Tanning on lower quarter of rear cover else VG.
From the library of Spydeee Gasmantell, with his signature on prelims. Bukowski uses his own life as his raw material and leaves nothing out. His approach to life is not to care about the consequence of his actions nor what people might think of him. There is some comedy and the constant presence of alcohol. Although a contemporary of the Beats, Bukowski was a genuine outsider writer and not affiliated with them.
“Here is an almost diary of a trapped man, trapped in a society that only gives credence to the unreal and the useless” - quote from rear cover.
