Daniel Schulke: ARS PHILTRON 1st Edition
1st 2001 144pp Xoanon. Colour frontispiece. Brown cloth with device and titling foiled in gold. Boards slightly bowed as is usual with all examples of this edition. Overall near fine.
Ltd. ed. 126/144. Signed and sigillised by author in silver pen on rear endpaper. "Concerning the Aqueous cunning of the potion and its praxis in the Green Arte Magical." The frontispiece is one of a series of '24 striking alchemical-sabbatic colour images,' and is 'backed' with one of six different 'prayers to Cain or Lilith as patrons of the Arte of the Philtre.' Therefore no two copies have the same frontispiece and 'prayer,' and thus each copy of the book is unique.
Ars Philtron examines "Wortcunning and Sabbatic-alchemical gnosis as manifested through the medium of potion-making. Its text treats of the eight principal Sabbatic-alchemic philtre types, their pharmacoepia and formulation. Evocations to aspects of the Sabbatic Guardians Lilith and Cain are also given to empower the revelation and reification of the Philtre Arcana."
