After Monique Wilson sold the Witches Mill collection to Ripley’s, they established two museums in the US, one in Gatlinburg Tennessee, and one at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.
Well illustrated with many images of the exhibits, this informative guide - written by John H. Steele - is a step by step tour of the museum, with sections on Primitive Magic, The Age of Witchcraft, The Hall of Demons and The Revival, which features several pieces owned by Aleister Crowley.
In 1975, due to pressure from the local churches and religious groups, Ripley's changed the name of the museum to "World of the Unexplained" and re-outfitted it with new attractions. In 1985 the museum closed down for good, due to poor ticket sales.
