H. B. Huges: TREPANATION A CURE FOR PSYCHOSIS
1970 38pp The Foundation for Critical Thinking stapled booklet. NB. A couple of pages have been offset printed (at an angle) but with no loss to text. Pages and cover edges age toned, overall VG.
An expansion on his work The Mechanism of Brainbloodvolume (‘BBV’) a.k.a Homo Sapiens Correctus, a scroll in which he proposed that trepanation could be used to enhance brain functionality by balancing the proportion of blood and cerebral spinal fluid. Hughes believed that, when mankind began to walk upright, our brains drained of blood and that trepanation allowed the blood to better flow in and out of the brain, causing a permanent “high”. The booklet also includes transcripts of interviews between Bart Huges and Joe Mellen, the author of Bore Hore, an auto-trepanation memoir (see other listing), as well as additional texts and song lyrics by Mellen. Extremely scarce.
