1920 Postcard. Postally used with stamps and postmark on reverse. VG.
A colourful scene of witches dancing around a fire while the devil looks over them. The Brocken hotel is in the background. Printed text on reverse reads “The Legend of the Brocken. On Walpurgis Night, on May 1st, witches come riding through the air on broomsticks, pitchforks, or all sorts of creatures to the summit of the Brocken. There, the devil welcomes them on his pulpit, a rock, and sprinkles the witches with water from the witches' basin. Then a frenzied dance begins around the infernal fire. With wild cheers, they finally fly off in all directions.”
