A catalogue of items from “Gerald Brosseau Gardner’s Collection from the Museum of Magic and Witchcraft, The Witches Mill, Castletown, Isle of Man.”
"This, the most famous collection of magickal and witchcraft treasures in the world, was accumulated by Dr. Gerald Brousseau Gardner [1884-1964]. Known in the British press as "King of the Witches", Dr. Gardner spent his lifetime traveling the world and studying folklore and anthropology, and was internationally known for his writings on witchcraft. Gardnerian doctrines still are a major influence on the practice of modern witchcraft, both in this country and throughout the world.
The collection was exhibited in Dr. Gardner's Museum of Magic and Witchcraft at the Witches Mill, a 16th century mill with a history of witchcraft activities dating back to the Arbory Witches of the early 19th century. The museum operated at this Castletown, Isle of Man location from 1950 until the collection was sold to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not organization in 1973 by Monique and Campbell Wilson, Dr. Gardner's heirs and the High Priest and High Priestess of his old coven."
